This was sent to me to try. The first thing I thought was that it’s a great opportunity to repurpose cool looking bottles. The second thing, and it popped into my head right away, was that it’s a gift idea for a lot of people.
It’s a lamp shade with a wine stopper built into the bottom. You push the stopper into a bottle and you have a lamp. The bottle isn’t included, which I found out partway through opening the box.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you’ve been saving good looking bottles and want something to do with them
- Skip it if: your bottles have wide or short necks, or the lamp would live somewhere it could get rained on
- My favorite feature: whatever bottle you pick becomes the lamp, because the mount is a wine stopper
- Would I buy again? Yes
The base is a wine stopper, so the bottle is up to you
Most lamps arrive with their own base. This one arrives with a wine stopper. The acrylic shade sits on a tapered metal stopper that pushes down into the bottle mouth, and that’s all the mounting there is. There is nothing to screw together and nothing to plug in.
Which means the base is whatever bottle you hand it. Lift the shade off, drop it on a different bottle, done. I’ve been keeping interesting bottles for years with no explanation my husband ever accepted, and now there’s one.

Who this bottle lamp is actually for
Anyone with a bar cart, a home bar, or a shelf of bottles they kept because the glass was too good to recycle. It gives that pile a job. It’s also the gift I’d reach for at a housewarming, or for the friend who takes their cocktails seriously enough to care what the bottle looks like.
If what you want is a mood light without a flame, my HAIDOLIANG candle warmer lamp does that job for candles instead. And if it’s the no-wiring part that appeals, the magnetic ceiling light I stuck in a closet runs on the same idea in a spot with no outlet.

Setting it up on a vodka bottle at home
I went in blind on this one. It lit up while I was still pulling it out of the box, before I’d worked out what it even was, and that turned out to be the whole setup process.
The first bottle I grabbed didn’t look right. You want a longer neck than I’d assumed, so I went back and found a taller bottle, and on that one it sat the way it’s supposed to. I still want to find a better looking bottle for it, which is now a thing I’m watching for.

The three things I keep coming back to
- It charges instead of plugging in: we’ve had a lot of power outages this year, and as long as this thing is topped up it keeps working when the house doesn’t. That moves it out of the decoration column for me. It sits next to my storm season radio in the category of stuff that only matters on the day it matters.
- One tap changes the color: there are three settings and you cycle them with the gold plate on top. No app, no remote, no pairing.
- The touch plate is sensitive: a light brush does it, which is great when your hands are full and less great on a crowded counter where an elbow can reach it.
Small things that add up
- The charging port sits on the shade itself, so the bottle stays put while it charges
- Just under a pound, so carrying it to another room is nothing
- The stopper is metal, not plastic, and it doesn’t wobble once it’s seated
Two things to check before you order
- Amazon lists it for indoor and outdoor use and also flags it as not water resistant. A covered porch is fine. A table that gets rained on isn’t.
- No bottle comes with it. You’re supplying that, and it needs to be one you already like looking at.
Common questions about the Jiofaviu wine bottle lamp
Does the Jiofaviu wine bottle lamp come with a bottle?
No. You supply the bottle. The stopper fits openings between 0.59 and 0.79 inches across, which covers most wine, beer and whiskey bottles.
How long does the Jiofaviu bottle lamp run on one charge?
Amazon rates the 2000mAh battery at 12 hours of light, with a 2.5 hour recharge over USB-C. The cable comes in the box and it will take a charge from a laptop or a power bank.
What bottles fit the Jiofaviu wine bottle lamp?
Anything with a neck opening between 0.59 and 0.79 inches. Go taller than you think. A short neck holds the shade fine but it looks squat, and a longer neck reads much more like a real lamp.
Can you use the wine bottle lamp outside?
Under cover, yes. Amazon calls it not water resistant even though the same page lists outdoor use, so a covered patio is fine and open weather isn’t.
Can the bottle lamp stand up on its own?
No. The wine stopper is the mount, so there’s no flat base underneath. It needs a bottle to sit on.
Similar bottle lamps to compare
- WILIT Wireless Bottle Lamp: a wood grain shade instead of clear acrylic, and a silicone adapter sized for 2.6 to 3 cm bottle mouths rather than a metal stopper. WILIT rates it IP64 against dust and splashes.
- Wireless Wine Bottle Lamp Shade with Remote: adds a remote, 15 RGB colors and a shut-off timer at 60, 120 or 240 minutes on top of the same three whites. The brand lists a 4000 mAh battery.
- 2 Pack Cordless LED Wine Bottle Light: the same clear acrylic shade idea sold as a pair, for a table or a shelf where one lamp would look lonely.
My call on the Jiofaviu wine bottle lamp
Yes, and I’d give it as a gift without thinking hard about it.
The one condition is the bottle. If you don’t already have one you like, buy this and you’ve bought yourself a small shopping project. If you do, you already know which one it’s going on.
