BLINGSTING sent me this car emergency kit to try, and it rides around with me now. It’s a good assortment of emergency items in one bag, and I’d get it again.
I unzipped every pocket before I put it away. Below is what’s in there, plus the one thing I’d do before you ever need it.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want the roadside basics already picked out for you
- Skip it if: you’ve already built your own kit and it’s complete
- My favorite feature: A three-way tie between the color, the light, and the extras I’d never have thought of.
- Would I buy again? Yes, and I’d hand one to a new driver.
Why a hot pink emergency kit makes sense in a dark trunk
I love the pink because it’s fun and it’s pink. It’s also easy to spot. If I need this kit at night, I’m not going to have a problem finding it, even if it’s pitch black out.
This is my second BLINGSTING product. They sent me the BLINGSTING safety hammer first and I liked it, so I was curious about the rest of their lineup. This kit has another one of those escape tools inside.

Who is this car emergency kit for?
It’s a great gift idea for a first-time car owner. Everything is already picked out and packed, so they’re set from day one instead of building a kit piece by piece. For the glovebox, I made a free printable car accident information form over on Admin Arcade.
It’s also for anyone like me, who wants to be covered and wouldn’t know where to start building a kit. If you’re stocking up at home too, I’ve tried BDH emergency ration bars with a 20 year shelf life and a Pronly 3 band radio for storm season.
How the BLINGSTING kit fits in my trunk
The size is the first thing I noticed. There’s a nice little nook in my trunk, and the case fits right in there.
Inside, the jumper cables sit behind a net, so they’re secure. The other side closes with a Velcro flap, and the smaller pieces are tucked in behind it.

The pieces I wouldn’t have packed myself
- Grip gloves: they have little grips all over the palms. Gloves never would’ve crossed my mind.
- Rain poncho: hooded, reusable, and one size fits most adults. Another good idea.
- Emergency thermal blanket: if I do get stranded, this is how I keep warm. It’s waterproof and reusable.
- Flashlight: I turned it on and said woo. It’s nice and bright.
What I liked
- The window breaker has a little cover over its sharp end
- The batteries are already in the kit
- The case has a carry handle, so it’s easy to grab and go
What to know before you buy
- Go through it before you need it. I pulled out the tire gauge and asked, something for the tire? You can see how much I know about this stuff. The side of the road in the dark is a bad place to meet your tools for the first time.
- Move the escape tool up front. It busts a window and slices a seatbelt, and it can’t do either from the back of the car. Mine came out of the case and stays within reach of my seat.
- I haven’t used it in a real emergency. I can’t tell you how it performs when a battery actually dies, and I’m fine not finding out.

My take on the BLINGSTING car emergency kit
It’s one of those things I hope I never need, and it feels better to have it. I’m thankful it’s back there.
If your car has nothing in it for a bad day on the road, this is a simple way to fix that.
