The days are getting shorter, but my sister Shelley is still grilling outside. So when Coinicxcel sent her this grill light to try, it went straight onto her Blackstone.
The install was super simple. It clamps onto the lid handle, and from there she just cooks.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you grill on a Blackstone or Weber after dark and want light that runs itself
- Skip it if: your grill handle is thicker than 1.65 inches
- My favorite feature: Shelley couldn’t pick one. Hands-free on and off, the color change, and the magnet all came up.
- Would I buy again? Yes
It turns off when you close the lid
Close the lid and the light shuts itself off. Open it back up and it’s on again. A gravity sensor inside reads the tilt, so there’s no switch to find with a spatula in your hand.
That means hands-free grilling. You just do your thing, and the light keeps up.

Who is this grill light for?
Blackstone and Weber owners who keep cooking after the sun goes down.
It lights the cooking surface, not the yard. If the rest of the patio goes dark too, a set of solar post cap lights with a flame effect or solar spotlights that switch between white and color can take care of the space around the grill.
How it went on my sister’s Blackstone
Once it’s on the handle, one button runs everything. Press it for full power, again for dim, and again for off. To turn it back on, she holds the button for a couple of seconds.
Since then, it’s stayed mounted on her Blackstone.

Features that help at the griddle
- Color you can change: Hold the button after it’s on and the light shifts from cool to warm. That helps you get a good read on the color of whatever you’re cooking, so you can check your sear lines and make sure things are fully cooked.
- A wide beam: 160° of light covers a nice wide area of the griddle.
- A port cover that seals: The USB-C port closes nice and tight to keep rain and moisture out.
- A long charge: Up to 12 hours on the 80% setting before it needs the charger.

The magnet was a bonus
- The light pops off the mount, and a magnet on the back sticks it to anything metal, like the side shelf, to light up a different spot.
- Taking it off one-handed is a little awkward, so use both hands if you can.
Will it fit your grill handle?
- The clamp tops out at 1.65 inches. Grab a tape measure first, especially on a smoker.
Grill light questions, answered
Will this grill light fit a Blackstone griddle?
Yes. My sister clamped it onto the lid handle of her Blackstone with no trouble. If you have a different model, check your handle against the clamp range in the specs.
How does the auto on/off work?
A gravity sensor reads the tilt of the lid. Shut it and the light goes dark, lift it and the light comes back. You don’t touch the button between flips.
Can you leave it outside in the rain?
It’s rated IPX4, which covers splashes and rain, and the USB-C port has a cover that closes tight. It isn’t made to sit in standing water.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 12 hours at 80% brightness, or about 4 hours at full power. It recharges over USB-C in about 2 to 5 hours.
Does it work on a Pit Boss or Traeger smoker?
Coinicxcel lists it for compatible Traeger and Pit Boss smokers, plus Big Green Egg. Smoker handles vary, so measure yours before ordering.
