The IUGA 6mm yoga mat is a light TPE mat with enough give for Pilates and home workouts, even on a hard floor. IUGA sent it to my sister Shelley to try. She was super excited, and the very first thing she pointed out was how lightweight it is.
She still uses it regularly.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want a mat with some give for Pilates or workouts at home
- Skip it if: you want padding thicker than a quarter inch
- Her favorite feature: how little it weighs
- Does she still use it? Yes
Light enough to grab and go
It’s about two pounds, so carrying it from room to room is nothing.
The carry strap is a sturdy cord. She’s picky about straps, because her old one was elastic and lost its stretch, and she thinks this one will last a very long time. The mat rolls up and cinches closed in seconds.

Who is the IUGA yoga mat for?
Anyone doing yoga, Pilates or other workouts at home, especially on hard surfaces. For a home workout space, the Ivation oversized LED clock in our garage gym is easy to read from across the room.
If you’re building out a home practice, she also tried the BODY RHYTHM headstand bench and the IUGA no front seam leggings. For sore muscles after Pilates, I tried the Zyllion vibrating peanut massage ball on my hamstrings, hip and back.
Is the IUGA mat cushioned enough on tile?
For her, yes. She tested it right on tile, and it’s cushioned under the knees. Even on that hard surface it felt supportive, and she could tell it would be easy on her wrists too.

Does the IUGA mat slip or smell?
- No sliding: her feet stayed put, and once the mat flattened out, it stayed down with no rippling.
- No chemical smell: none at all, right out of the package.
Three things to know first
- Let it lie flat for a while after you unroll it. It comes off the roll with a curl.
- The two sides are different. The textured top is for your hands and feet, and the patterned bottom is the side that goes down.
- Clean it by hand with a damp rag and a little mild detergent, and don’t leave it sitting in the sun.
