Solarcaine Advanced Hydrogel went on cool with zero sting, and I’d buy it again. It was sent to me to try, and I didn’t have a sunburn when I opened it, so I put it on my arm anyway. I could tell right away how good it’d feel on the real thing. The one catch is that it’s runny.
I’m not going to say I look forward to my next sunburn. That’s never the plan.

Who is Solarcaine Advanced Hydrogel for?
I had my husband in mind the whole time. He puts on sunscreen, but he’s out on the boat so long that he usually comes home asking for something like this. This bottle is headed for the boat.
If plain aloe is more your speed, the Aloderma aloe vera gel is one I’ve used for years. And for staying shaded to begin with, there’s the sun visor I bring for reading outside.
How does it feel on dry, itchy skin?
My arm was dry and itchy the day I tried it, and the gel felt great on it.
So I’m filing this under year-round, not just for the bad days.
What I can’t tell you is how it does on a bad burn. I haven’t had one to test it on.
