This VFcare BIO paste was sent to me to try, and I was curious how my dogs would handle it. I’ve seen cats lick this kind of thing right out of the sachet. I figured my dogs would try to bite it.
All three of my dogs lined up for more. It’s a tuna and salmon paste with postbiotics and prebiotics, and it went over like a treat.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want a gut supplement your dogs lick up like a treat, no pill hiding
- Skip it if: your pet can’t have fish
- My favorite feature: the drizzle trick. My picky littlest ate it on her food.
- Would I buy again? Yes
What’s in VFcare BIO paste?
The main ingredient is a postbiotic called HK L-137, a heat-killed strain VFcare sources from Japan. It’s paired with prebiotics: FOS, yeast-based beta glucan and MOS, and COS. VFcare says the blend is for gut balance, immune support, and stool quality.
It comes as a lickable paste instead of a pill or powder. The protein is from fish, and the flavor is tuna with salmon.

Who is VFcare BIO paste good for?
Dogs who won’t take a pill. If your dog will lick it off a sachet, you skip the pill fight.
It’s made for cat households too, so a home with a dog and a cat can share one box. And if you have more than one dog, plan on everyone showing up the second you open a sachet. Mine are the same three rescues behind my roundup of dog gear I tested.

What happened when I held it out for my three dogs
The first dog went right for it. Then everybody else heard what was happening and came running. One got it on his nose. Another tried to bite the whole sachet, so I kept saying “just lick it” until it clicked. It takes a little practice.
Halfway through, I realized I should be squeezing it from the bottom like toothpaste. That helped. By the end they were in line waiting for more, and I was using my full pet voice. I don’t know who talks to their dogs in a normal voice. That’s weird.
What made the sachets easy to use
- It tears open cleanly: No scissors. It tears easily and leaves a tiny opening.
- It fits in a bag: Each sachet is about the size of my hand, easy to slip into a bag and take anywhere, like the Rubyloo dog travel bag I tested with all three dogs.
- It works as a topper: My littlest dog needs a topping on her food or she turns her nose up at everything. I drizzled a little on, and she chomped away. When she doesn’t like a topping, she lets me know.
What else I liked
- All three of my dogs liked the tuna and salmon flavor. Not one of them walked away.
- The sachets are sealed singles, so I grab one and go.
What to know before you buy VFcare BIO
- Licking takes practice. A dog who’s never had a lickable treat might try to bite the whole sachet at first.
- It’s tuna and salmon flavored with fish protein, so skip it if your pet has a fish allergy.
- I only tried it with my dogs. I can’t tell you how a cat takes to it.
