The DOVOH WG-3L digital angle finder is an angle gauge, a digital level and a green laser line in one small rechargeable package. This was sent to me to try, and my sister Shelley opened it with our dad at his house. Before long he was walking the kitchen checking every counter with it. Neither of them had a complaint, and I’d hand one to anybody who hangs, builds or fixes things around the house.
Fair warning: this post has opinions about countertops, and they’re all Dad’s.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you put up shelves or set saw angles, and you’d like one thing for both
- Skip it if: you want a laser that straightens itself out. This one gives you the number and you do the adjusting
- My favorite feature: Shelley and Dad wouldn’t pick one. The readout, the lasers and the way it mounts tied
- Would I buy again? Yes
What does the DOVOH WG-3L do differently from a regular level?
It puts a number on level. The screen shows the angle of whatever it’s sitting on, down to the hundredth of a degree, and it can show slope as a percent too. Then it shoots a laser line at the same angle, so the number you measured turns into a line you can mark along.
It also stays put without a hand on it. Magnets are built in, so it holds on anything steel. For a wall, there’s a metal plate you tack up with a nail or the included pins. It sticks to the plate, lines up with the center hole and rotates around it. You turn it to the angle you’re after and mark the wall with both hands free.

Who is the DOVOH digital angle finder for?
This one is for the person who owns a drill and cares whether things are straight. Setting a shelf, squaring up a door, tilting a saw blade to an exact angle, or getting a row of frames even. Something as big as a 24×36 floating acrylic frame is where a laser saves a lot of pencil marks. If you’re the one who fixes things around the house, the free home maintenance schedule on Admin Arcade keeps track of what’s due next.
If you hang one picture a year, a basic bubble level does the job and this is more than the job needs. Dad is who I call for anything in this category. He also helped me try the Neoteck gas leak detector.

How it went in Dad’s kitchen
They started at the fridge, where it hung by itself while Dad worked through the buttons. Then he took off around the room.
The counters came first. One of them pitches toward the back a little, and the readout said so right away. Dad’s review of whoever installed them: they should’ve done a better job raising it back up. He tried a second spot and got the same answer.
The door hinges did better. He aimed the laser at them and ruled them pretty darn close. From there the beam ran across the tile, right along the grout, and the grout held up. Dad did the tile himself, so I’ll do the humble brag for him.

The lasers and buttons, one at a time
- Three lasers, your pick: one shoots out the top and one out each side. You can run only the top, only the sides, or all three.
- Tilt hold: it’s there for when you need one specific angle, like 30 degrees, and want to hold it at that rotation.
- Zero: it sets whatever it’s sitting on as the starting point, so you can measure one surface against another.
- Battery meter: it’s on the screen, so you can see how much charge is left before you start.
What Shelley and Dad liked
- It comes in a cute little zip case with a strap, and the cable and manual fit inside.
- Spare pins ride in a small compartment on the back, so they don’t get lost.
What are the DOVOH WG-3L’s downsides?
Neither of them found a problem, so this section is short.
- It doesn’t straighten itself. The laser points wherever it’s tilted, and you adjust until you get the number you want.
- They used it indoors on one visit. I can’t tell you how the laser shows up outside or how long a charge lasts.
DOVOH WG-3L questions, answered
Does the DOVOH WG-3L need batteries?
No. It has a built-in 2600 mAh rechargeable battery and charges with the included USB-C cable.
Can you use the DOVOH WG-3L to set a table saw blade?
Yes, the Zero button is made for it. You zero it on the saw table, then move it to the blade to read the angle between the two. Shelley and Dad didn’t try it on a saw, so I can’t tell you how it went.
How much does the DOVOH WG-3L weigh?
It weighs 300 grams, which is about 10.6 ounces.
Does the DOVOH WG-3L straighten itself out?
No. The laser points wherever the tool sits, so you adjust it until the screen shows the angle you want.
How do you mount the DOVOH WG-3L on a wall?
Tack the metal plate up with a nail or the included pins. The angle finder sticks to the plate, lines up with the center hole and turns around it, so you can set an angle and mark the wall with both hands free.
Other angle gauges and laser levels to compare
| Tool | Laser | How it mounts |
|---|---|---|
| DOVOH WG-3L | 3 green lines | Built-in magnets plus a metal wall plate |
| Wixey WR300 | None | Magnetic base |
| SKIL LL9325-00 | 1 line, visible to 15 ft | Magnetic edge and wall-mount base |
| Klein Tools 80035 | None | V-groove edges and plumber’s straps |
- Wixey WR300 Type 2 Digital Angle Gauge: An angle gauge with no laser. It has a magnetic base for saw blades, fences and tables, 0.1° resolution and a backlit screen, and it runs on one AA battery.
- SKIL LL9325-00 Compact Digital Level with Line Laser: A compact digital level with a single laser line, a magnetic edge and a magnetic wall-mount base. The laser is visible up to 15 feet.
- Klein Tools 80035 Digital Level and Angle Gauge Kit: A digital level and angle gauge with no laser, sold with plumber’s straps. V-groove edges line it up on conduit and pipe, and the straps give it something magnetic to grab on pipes it can’t stick to.
My take on the DOVOH WG-3L angle finder
If you build or fix things at home on a regular basis, get this one. And if Dad turns up at your place with it, clear the counters.
