The Artisan’s Anvil copper water bottle is a 32oz hammered bottle made from 100% copper, and it comes with a canvas carry bag with a long strap. It was sent to me to try. I took it on a hike and it didn’t leak. It has no insulation, so cold water makes the outside wet, and it’s hand wash only.
This was my first copper water bottle. I’d been hearing a lot about drinking from one, so I was excited to try it. I didn’t test what copper water does for your health. I’m here to tell you how the bottle is to live with.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want a 100% copper bottle with a wide mouth and its own canvas carry bag
- Skip it if: you need your water kept cold for hours or you want a bottle you can put in the dishwasher
- My favorite feature: the canvas carry bag. The strap is long enough to go over my shoulder, so the bottle came on a hike with me.
- Would I buy again? Yes
How Do You Know the Copper Is Real?
A thank-you card comes in the box. It explains the copper can discolor over time, and it calls the color change a sign the bottle is made from 100% copper and nothing else. So if mine darkens, I’ll know why. It’s heavy enough to feel high quality and light enough to carry. The bottle weighs 0.42 kg, a little under a pound.

Who Should Buy a Pure Copper Water Bottle?
This fits you if you’re curious about drinking water stored in copper, which is an Ayurvedic practice, and you don’t mind a bottle with a routine. I fill mine at night and drink it in the morning. It’s a small habit, and I’m the person who built a habit tracker with glitter and explosions. If you’re already building an evening routine, filling the bottle is an easy thing to add to it.
It’s also pretty enough to leave out on a counter. If you already use a glass tumbler or an insulated bottle, this one does a different job.
What Happened When I Started Using It?
It came wrapped up nicely, with a care card in the box. The hammered indents are gorgeous in person, and the twist top has a little seal in it.
The canvas bag is what got it out of the house. I put the strap over my shoulder and took it on a hike, and it didn’t leak. When I filled it with cold water, the outside got wet. There’s no insulation here.
Cleaning is lemon and salt. The care card’s instructions are 2 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice and a generous pinch of sea salt in the bottle. I’ve cleaned mine this way. It doesn’t go in the dishwasher.

The Artisan’s Anvil is a well made 32oz copper bottle, and the carry bag is the reason mine leaves the house. It asks two things of you. Fill it ahead of time and wash it by hand. If you’re fine with both and you want to try drinking from copper, this is the one I’d point you to.
