I’MINT sugar-free coffee candy smells like coffee before the tin is even open, and it tastes just like it too. I’MINT sent me the Espresso and Americano duo to try, and I found both delicious.
They kept smelling better and better the longer I had them out.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want a coffee fix you can carry around
- Skip it if: you want something you can bite into right away
- My favorite feature: A three-way tie between how it tastes, how slowly it dissolves, and the lift I got after.
- Would I buy again? Yes.
Does I’MINT coffee candy taste like real coffee?
Yum. It tastes just like coffee, and it’s not too strong. It isn’t bitter at all, and it has just the right amount of sweetness for me.
The xylitol gives it a good sweetness, and I’m not getting a weird aftertaste. It’s refreshing, too.
I liked the Espresso and the Americano the same. You do have to like the taste of coffee. I think that’s obvious.

Who are these coffee bonbons for?
They’re for coffee lovers who want the flavor without making a cup. The tins are pretty, and they’re great to throw in a purse.
They’d make a good stocking stuffer for the coffee person in your life. If that person is fully committed, I’ve also tried a farmhouse coffee bar cabinet with storage.
A friend told me to eat a coffee bean
I’d been complaining to a friend about being tired every day of my life. Her advice was to eat a coffee bean. So I was excited when these showed up.
Everybody reacts differently, so I can only tell you what happened to me. A little while after trying both, I felt kind of perked up. I was like, hello. They’re going to be my little afternoon treat when I start dragging.
If you’re running on empty most days too, I wrote about how to track your energy and find out what’s actually draining you.

What the tins and the candy are like
- Sliding tin: pay attention to the slide to open, because it took me longer than it should have. Slide it, and there’s a little dispenser. Then shake one out.
- Bean shape: each piece looks like a coffee bean. That’s cute.
- Hard candy texture: it lasts longer than a soft candy would, and I count that as a plus.

What I liked
- Not too many ingredients
- Zero sugar in either tin
What to know before you order
- They contain xylitol. Keep the tins away from pets.
- They’re hard. I was going to bite one, and it’s pretty crunchy. This is a candy to suck on, at least at first.
- Go easy on how many you eat. Too many at once can have a laxative effect.
