Caffeine gum was not something I thought I needed in my life. Then this landed in my hands and I figured, I could use the energy, so why not pop one and see what happens.
This was sent to me to try out. What I got was a surprisingly good piece of gum that also happens to pack 110mg of caffeine per gumball. That is roughly two shots of espresso in something the size of a jawbreaker.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want a portable fast-acting caffeine hit that tastes like actual bubblegum and fits in your pocket
- Skip it if: you are caffeine-sensitive since 110mg per piece is a real dose, or you want something you can chew mindlessly all day
- My favorite feature: the flavor held up the entire time and never went bitter. That is the thing I was most skeptical about and it genuinely surprised me.
- Would I buy again? Yes
What Makes KickBallz Different from Other Caffeinated Gums
Most caffeinated gums sacrifice taste to fit in the functional ingredients. The texture falls apart, the flavor goes bitter fast, and you end up chewing something that tastes like a vitamin. KickBallz skips that trade-off. The coating gives you a satisfying crunch on first bite, the gum underneath is soft and easy to chew, and the bubblegum flavor stays good the whole time. It was developed by a dentist, so the formula is enamel-safe, uses xylitol, and has zero sugar. That combination of real gum quality plus a meaningful caffeine dose is what sets it apart.

Who Should Try Caffeine Gum Instead of Coffee or Energy Drinks?
These are a good fit if you need caffeine fast and do not want to carry a drink to get it. That covers a mid-afternoon energy dip at your desk, a long drive, a workout, a flight, or any situation where a coffee cup is not practical. They are also a real option if you are keto or watching sugar intake since there is nothing here that spikes blood sugar. Just know that 110mg is a serious dose. Treat it like a cup of coffee, not a piece of regular gum. For the other end of the day, the Hiihone lemon balm tea I reviewed is the caffeine-free version of this habit.
What Happened When I Actually Popped One
I was a little nervous. Caffeine gum felt like something that could go sideways fast. The first thing I noticed was how good it smelled when I opened the tin. Then I bit into it and got an actual crunch from the coating before it gave way to soft chewy gum underneath. The bubblegum flavor hit right away and it was genuinely good. I kept chewing and waiting for it to turn bitter the way other caffeinated gums do. It never did. The texture stayed soft the whole time and was easy on my jaw, which I noticed because I have had jaw issues lately and some gums are rough after a few minutes. This one was not.
What KickBallz Gets Right
- Crunch coating into soft gum: The first bite feels like candy, not a supplement. That detail makes a bigger difference than it sounds.
- Flavor that holds: Bubblegum flavor from start to finish with no medicinal bitterness. That was the thing I was most skeptical about and it cleared the bar easily.
- Slim metal tins: Pocket-sized and actually protect the gum from getting soft or crushed in a bag. Seven per tin is a tight count but the packaging is legitimately well done.
- Easy on the jaw: Soft enough to chew for a full stretch without any soreness, which I was not expecting from a gumball-style piece.
Pros
- Bubblegum flavor is legitimately good and holds the whole chew
- 110mg caffeine kicks in within 10 minutes
- Zero sugar, 5 calories, one carb per piece
- Soft and easy to chew without hurting your jaw
- Slim tins are pocket-friendly and keep the gum protected
- Freshens breath instead of leaving coffee breath
- Dentist-developed, enamel-safe, made in the USA
Cons
- 110mg is a high dose, start with one if you are caffeine-sensitive
- Tin opening is small, people with larger fingers may need to dump them out to grab one
- Artificial sweeteners can cause digestive discomfort if you eat several in a day (which you shouldn’t anyway)
- Only 7 per tin so the per-piece cost adds up with daily use
Common Questions About KickBallz Caffeine Gum
How fast does the caffeine kick in?
It hit me in about 8 to 10 minutes. The caffeine absorbs through the lining of your mouth while you chew, which is faster than swallowing a pill or waiting for coffee to digest.
How many pieces can you have in a day?
The brand recommends no more than three per day. At 110mg each, three pieces puts you at 330mg of caffeine total, which is on the higher end of what most guidelines consider a safe daily limit for adults.
Does the bubblegum flavor actually hold up or does it go bitter?
It holds up. I was expecting a medicinal aftertaste based on other caffeinated gums I have tried. It never came.
Is it keto-friendly?
Yes. Zero sugar, one gram of carbs, and sweetened without anything that spikes blood sugar. The brand markets it as keto-approved.
How does it compare to NeuroGum?
KickBallz has a higher caffeine dose per piece, 110mg versus 40mg in NeuroGum, and held up better texturally in my experience. Several reviewers also note that NeuroGum can fall apart during chewing, which was not an issue here.
What flavors does KickBallz come in?
Four ways: bubblegum, cinnamon, peppermint, and a variety pack that mixes all three. I chewed the bubblegum, so the flavor notes here are only about that one.
Similar Caffeine Options to Compare
I have only chewed the KickBallz, so the other two are described from their listings. Both link to Amazon.
| Product | Caffeine per piece | Sugar | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| KickBallz | 110mg | 0g | Fast, portable energy that tastes like real bubblegum |
| NeuroGum | 40mg | 0g | Caffeine-sensitive, want a lower controllable dose |
| Quantum Energy Square | 100mg | Low | Want food plus protein alongside the caffeine |
- NeuroGum: Lower caffeine at 40mg per piece, which makes it easier to control your dose if you are sensitive. A gentler starting point if 110mg feels like too much.
- Quantum Energy Square: If you want caffeine plus something to eat, this is a bar with 100mg of caffeine and 10g of protein. Less convenient than gum, but you get actual food alongside the boost.
If you want the coffee flavor with a much smaller dose, I’ve also tried I’MINT sugar-free coffee candy, which has about 2 to 4 mg of caffeine a piece. If you’re caffeine-sensitive and want to skip it completely, I’ve also tried MTE caffeine-free energy powder, a drink mix that uses paraxanthine instead.
My Take After Chewing Through a Tin
I went in skeptical and came out impressed. The flavor is the real win here. Caffeinated gum has a reputation for tasting like medicine and these genuinely do not. The crunch on the first bite, the soft chew underneath, and a flavor that never went bitter made it feel like something I actually want to reach for. The 110mg dose means you treat these like coffee, not like regular gum, but if you want fast portable energy without carrying a drink, KickBallz is one of the better answers I have found. If a late piece leaves you wired at bedtime, the OH MY CHEWY sleep gummies are the other half of that problem. And if the afternoon dip keeps showing up at the same time every day, tracking your energy for a week on my other blog is how you find out what is causing it.
