This four-pack of Pak LED shop lights was sent to me to try. They’re made for garages and workshops, but mine went straight into my home office. I photograph the products I test in there, and I’m always racing the sun with a window that doesn’t help much.
I hung all four, flipped them on, and said the first thing that came to mind: the neighbors two blocks away can probably see my office. I love it.

Why my shop lights run up the wall instead of across the ceiling
Shop lights usually hang flat on a garage ceiling. My sister Shelley was over and had the idea to mount mine vertically on the wall, so we put two on each side of the spot where I take pictures and linked each pair end to end.
That frames my photo area from both sides. It also doubles as a little design element on the wall.

Who these LED shop lights make sense for
Anyone taking product photos, filming, or working on projects in a room without good window light. They also fit the jobs they’re sold for, like a garage, a workshop, or a basement work area.
They plug into a regular outlet, so you don’t need an electrician. If you only need a little light in a closet with no outlet nearby, the battery-powered Fsaox ceiling light my sister put in her closet is a better fit than a 4-foot fixture.
Hanging them myself and what changed for my photos
They’re lightweight, so I installed them on my own. One end of each light comes capped off, and the cap pops out when you want to link to the next light. I used a little laser level to keep everything even, then mounted them with the hardware in the box. No hardware store run.
The bigger change shows up in my pictures. My product photos look better now than they did when I was working around that window.
Four ways to connect Pak shop lights
- Plug each one in: every light can run on its own power cord straight to the wall.
- Link them with a cable: a connector cable leaves space between two lights. That’s how each of my wall pairs is joined.
- Butt them end to end: the small connectors join lights so close you don’t see the wire. That’s the cleanest look when you run them in one straight line.
- Hardwire them: you can wire them into your electrical instead of using a plug at all.
Two things I love about having them up
- I’m not racing daylight anymore. I can take product photos whenever I get to them.
- When it gets dark early in fall and winter, the extra light sometimes wakes me up and powers me through the rest of the day.
Before you order: cool light, indoor use, no dimmer
- The light is 6500K, a cool, slightly blue white. It’s great for photos and work and a lot for a bedroom or living room.
- Amazon lists them for indoor use. For a damp garage or carport, look at a moisture-rated fixture instead.
- There’s no dimmer. Each power cord has an on/off switch, and that’s the control you get.

How many Pak LED shop lights can you link together?
Up to six in one chain. You can link them with the connector cables or join them end to end with the small connectors.
Do you need an electrician to install Pak shop lights?
No. Each one runs on a plug-in power cord, and I hung mine myself. Hardwiring is an option if you want no cord showing.
How long is each Pak 4FT shop light?
47 inches, just under the 4 feet in the name.
Are the connector cables included?
Yes. Connector cables and power cords in three lengths come in the box, so you don’t have to buy anything extra to link them.
Other 4-foot shop lights that work differently

- DOSILIO 4FT LED Vapor Tight Lights: IP65 rated against moisture and dust, and it dims with a separate 0-10V dimmer. It wires in directly, with no power cord in the box, and covers the damp spots and dimming the Pak doesn’t.
My call on the Pak 4FT LED shop lights
For a home office where I take product photos, these fixed the lighting problem my window never could. I’d buy them again.
If your space needs warm light, a dimmer, or a damp rating, go with one of the options above.
