Two things got me before I ever used this. The bottles look good, amber glass with a deep blue label and a proper pump on top, and the scent is eucalyptus mint, which is one of my favorites. AHSUO sent me the set to try.
It’s sold as a hard water shampoo, which raises a question I couldn’t answer. I’ve never checked my water. So I can’t tell you whether this cleared out any mineral buildup. What I can tell you is what one wash did to my hair.

What a hard water shampoo is supposed to do
Hard water carries dissolved calcium and magnesium, and over time those minerals settle onto the hair shaft. That’s the buildup a clarifying formula goes after, and the promise is that hair stops feeling heavy and rough once it’s gone.
This set splits the job in two. The shampoo does the clearing and the conditioner is the counterweight, so hair doesn’t come out squeaky and stripped. AHSUO sells it for daily washing rather than as a once a week treatment, which is a different pitch to most clarifying shampoos.

The everyday tells are indirect: spots dried onto your glassware, and hair that feels rough coming straight out of the shower no matter what you washed it with.
I’m not one of those people, or at least I don’t know that I am. I’ve never tested my water and I have no mineral problem I could point at. So if you’re buying this specifically to fix buildup, I can’t be your evidence. If you’re buying it as a shampoo and conditioner that smells good and leaves hair easy to handle, I can.
What one wash actually did
The shampoo lathered up fast, which clarifying formulas often don’t. The conditioner is thick, thick enough that you can feel it sitting on the hair instead of running off, and it coated everything the way a good one should.
Out of the shower, the brush went straight through with no fight. That’s the thing I look for in every shampoo and conditioner I try, and it’s the thing I struggle with often having fine, thin hair. Then I did what you’re told not to do and went to sleep on hair that was still partly wet. In the morning it was soft, a little shinier than usual, and it still brushed out easily.
Four things I noticed straight away
- Pumps already fitted: both bottles arrived with the pump on, working from the first press. No prying a cap off with wet hands.
- Bottles you don’t mind looking at: the amber and navy pairing looks deliberate, and they sit out in a shower without looking like a chemistry set.
- Cut foam inserts: both bottles were nested into shaped foam rather than rattling around loose in a carton.
- A printed product guide: an actual instruction card in the box, which more sets could stand to include.
What kept it in the rotation
- The scent was still there the next morning, sitting in the background rather than announcing itself.
- Getting a brush through afterwards took no effort, which is the bar I hold every shampoo to.

What to know before you order
- There’s a sharp note underneath the fragrance. On first application I caught something almost like alcohol sitting under the mint. It didn’t bother me, but if you’re fussy about fragrance, that’s the part to know about.
- This is one wash and the morning after. Not a thirty day verdict, and I’m not going to give you one I don’t have.
Questions I had before I ordered
Does the eucalyptus mint scent last after your hair dries?
Yes. I could still smell it the following day, after sleeping on damp hair. It sits in the background rather than filling a room, closer to fresh and clean than perfumed.
Is this shampoo sulfate free?
Nothing on the bottle or in the product description claims it. Several competing hard water sets state it plainly, so if that matters to you, treat the silence as a gap rather than an answer.
How do you know if you have hard water?
The everyday signs are spots dried onto glassware, soap that struggles to lather, and hair that feels rough straight out of the shower. A cheap test strip will settle it properly, which is more than I did.
Can you use this every day?
Yes, that is how it’s meant to be used, and that framing is the main thing separating it from most clarifying shampoos, which you reach for once a week.
Does the conditioner weigh hair down?
Mine didn’t, and the label actually lists flat hair among the types it’s aimed at. It is a thick conditioner though, so start with less than you would normally use and add more if you need it.

Does it stay in my rotation
Yes, though rotation is doing the work in that sentence. I don’t stay with one shampoo for long, and the shower already holds more bottles than my husband thinks is reasonable, which is before you count the hair serum I tested. This one earned a spot on the shelf.
If you want a set that washes clean and leaves your hair easy to get through, it did that on the first wash. If you’re buying it to fix a hard water problem you have actually measured, my experience won’t tell you much either way.
