My sister has been raving about Shameless Snacks, so when the company sent me some to try, I was really eager to dig in.
I went with the So Beary Cherry gummy bears, and they’re really good.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want something sweet without completely blowing it
- Skip it if: you like to eat candy by the handful
- My favorite feature: No funny finish after each bite
- Would I buy again? Yes
Do Shameless Snacks gummies have an aftertaste?
I wasn’t getting any weird aftertaste from the sweeteners, and to me that’s important. The only thing left after each bite was the fruity gummy flavor.
The gummy texture is really good too.

Who are these gummy bears for?
Anyone who’s craving something sweet and doesn’t want to completely blow their sugar allowance for the day. Gummies aren’t usually my first choice for dessert, but I’ll totally eat these. If hard candy is more your thing, the I’MINT coffee candy is another one I tried.
They’d make a good movie snack too. I eat gluten-free, so a bag of these and a box of Cheez-It Gluten Free would cover sweet and salty.

Trying my first cherry bear
Right after I picked cherry, I worried it might taste like medicine, since cherry sometimes does. Then I tried one. Oh, yum. It’s a really yummy cherry.
My sister has been obsessed with these, and now I get why. She hasn’t shared any of hers with me, so it was nice to finally try them for myself.
Why one bag is plenty
- They’re already portioned: I can get a little too snacky and just go to town, so having them split into bags helps.
- There’s a lot in one bag: It isn’t full, but there are quite a few bears inside.
- One bag satisfied me: I didn’t feel like going back for a second one.
- Easy to toss in a purse: The bags are a good size for taking along.
A couple more things I liked
- The nutrition numbers are printed big on the front of the bag, so there’s no hunting for them
- They’re vegan, so there’s no gelatin
Two things to know first
- Stick to one bag. There’s a lot of fiber in here, and I was told not to eat more than one serving. Let’s just say there can be digestive consequences.
- They have sugar alcohols. A bag has 4 g, so pass on these if you avoid them.
Questions about Shameless Snacks gummy bears
How many should I eat the first time?
If you don’t eat much fiber, start with a few bears and see how your stomach handles them. Once you’re used to it, a whole bag is one serving.
What sweetens them?
Erythritol and isomalt, plus a little sucralose. The fiber comes from soluble corn fiber and polydextrose.
Do they come in other flavors?
Yes, a lot of them. Besides So Beary Cherry, the gummy lineup includes Green Apple Blast, Wassup Watermelon, OMG Sour Peach, Super Sour Blue Raspberry, Wunderlicious Whales and Super Wild Worms, plus variety packs.
Are they vegan and gluten-free?
Yes. The bag carries both marks, and there’s no gelatin in them.
Other low-sugar gummies to compare
- SmartSweets Sweet Fish: Red fish-shaped gummies with 3 g of sugar in a bag.
- BEHAVE Sour Bears: Sour gummy bears sweetened with monk fruit and allulose instead of sugar alcohols.
Are these going in my snack cabinet?
Yes. The cherry won me over, there’s no sweetener aftertaste, and one bag takes care of a craving.
