This DASTOLL Tree of Life suncatcher was sent to me to try. My first reaction when I got it out of the wrapping was “ooh, it’s so pretty,” and I kept saying it. It’s UV-printed glass, not traditional leaded stained glass, but the raised detail makes it look like more than a print. It’s hanging in my office window now, and it’s staying up all year.
It reads as a fall piece to me. The blues and purples showed up right as I started feeling the chill in the air. I just don’t plan on taking it down when fall’s over.
Quick Verdict
- Buy it if: you want a detailed blue and purple window piece that works for fall and doesn’t have to come down after
- Skip it if: you want hand-cut, leaded stained glass
- My favorite feature: the raised branches and leaf outlines
- Would I keep it up? Yes, all year, in my office window

How detailed is the DASTOLL Tree of Life suncatcher up close?
The trunk and branches are raised and silver, and every leaf has its own dark outline. I kept holding it up close saying “look at all the detail.”
The front is mostly flat, and the raised lines sit on top of it. That layer is what keeps a printed design from looking like a sticker on glass.

Who this Tree of Life suncatcher suits
Anyone who wants fall color in a window without a pumpkin or a ghost on it. The Tree of Life design isn’t tied to a holiday, so it can go up in September and just stay.
It also suits someone who likes things that play with light. If that’s you, the VUFOZ copper wind spinner that catches light while it spins does the same job outdoors, and so do the Fuligent solar post cap lights after dark.

How it looked in my bedroom window, my office window, and outside
I tried the bedroom window first and knew right away it wasn’t staying there. The office window gets more light, so it moved there with the textured side facing the room. The view behind it is my dirty screened-in porch roof, so please ignore that part.
It was prettier in the office, but I still felt like none of my windows did it justice. So I took it outside so I could really see how pretty it is. Then it went back to the office window, where it lives now.
Which side of the suncatcher faces out, and how it hangs
- Two different sides: the back is textured and the front is flatter with the raised lines. I wasn’t sure which one was supposed to face out, and it looked good both ways.
- The chain is already on: it’s attached to the rim, so there’s nothing to assemble.
- A stick-on hanger comes with it: I didn’t end up using it, so I can’t tell you how well it holds.
What I liked
- It came wrapped nice and safely, which matters for anything glass that gets shipped
- The color shifts from bright blue at the bottom to purple at the top, with a few warm leaves mixed in
- It fits the season when the air turns cool without shouting Halloween
What to know before buying
- It’s printed, not leaded. The design is UV printed onto one piece of glass, so it isn’t made of separate cut pieces joined with lead or solder.
- At 7.8 inches it’s an accent for one pane, not a piece that covers a window.
DASTOLL Tree of Life suncatcher questions
Is the DASTOLL Tree of Life suncatcher real stained glass?
No. It’s one piece of diamond glass with the design UV printed on it and raised lines on top, set in a metal frame. It isn’t built from separate cut pieces.
How big is the DASTOLL Tree of Life suncatcher?
It’s 7.8 inches across. That fills one pane of a standard window, with room to see around it.
How do you hang the DASTOLL suncatcher?
By its metal chain, which comes attached to the frame. There’s also a stick-on hanger in the box. I didn’t use it, so I can’t say how it holds.
Is the Tree of Life suncatcher only a Halloween decoration?
No. The blues and purples feel like fall to me, but nothing in the design is tied to a holiday. Mine is up all year.
Other Tree of Life suncatchers to compare
- Giftway Handmade Tree of Life Suncatcher: for real cut glass instead of print. Amazon lists it as individually cut, hand-painted glass at 6 by 6 inches.
- ADQZYWT Tree of Life Stained Glass Suncatcher: a 6.3-inch mosaic glass panel with two trees and a sunset background, for warmer fall tones than the blue and purple.
- HausArtX Tree of Life Crystal Suncatcher: a wire tree with hanging crystal prisms, built to throw rainbows around the room instead of glowing with color.
Is the DASTOLL suncatcher staying up after fall?
Yes. It works as a Halloween decoration, but it isn’t getting packed away in November.
If you want a detailed Tree of Life for a window and printed glass doesn’t bother you, this is the one I’d hang.
