Wondercide’s Wasp and Hornet Killer took out five nests at my sister’s new house, killed on contact, and left a faint lemony smell instead of a chemical cloud. Why pick a plant-based wasp spray?
Because you can use it where people actually sit. The can lists lemongrass oil and geraniol as the active ingredients, says “powered by plants” and “kills by contact” right on the front, and is rated safe around pets and people when used as directed. That’s the whole pitch for a porch, patio, or deck, and it’s the reason a lot of us leave the conventional cans in the garage until there’s no other option.
The other half is reach. It sprays up to 15 feet, so you’re not creeping up on an active nest with a can that peters out at arm’s length. My sister stood well back, hit a nest tucked under the eave, and never had to get close enough to regret it.

Who should buy Wondercide wasp spray?
Anyone with nests on the eaves, the porch, or the patio who would rather not fog the place they eat dinner with a synthetic pesticide. New homeowners are the obvious crowd, because a first walk around a yard nobody has maintained turns up surprises. If you have dogs or kids in that yard, the label’s “safe around pets and people when used as directed” line is the reason this can exists.
It’s made for open-faced hives you can see and aim at. A nest inside a wall or down in the ground is a different job and a different product. What happened when she sprayed the nests?
