What makes the ArtNaturals argan set different?
The scent. I’m particular about this, because I like the smell of a shampoo to stick around, and most of them are gone by the time my hair dries. This one lingers. I don’t want to say strong, because that sounds negative, but it’s a strong, really good scent, and I notice it on myself through the day.
The other thing is what’s on the back of the bottle. The label spells it out in two columns, a no list and a yes list, and I like that they lay it out that clearly instead of making you read the fine print. Its own pitch is “heal your hair with revitalizing argan for thicker, more hydrated strands, plus aloe and coconut for silky soft tresses.” Take the “heal” with a grain of salt. The softer part I can vouch for.

Who is this argan shampoo and conditioner set for?
Dry, damaged, or color-treated hair is what the bottle is aimed at. I’d add anyone whose hair has started changing on them and wants a wash that feels like it’s doing something.
If your ends need more than a conditioner can give them, the Remilia Cosmocap hair serum is the leave-in I reach for on top. This set is the wash underneath it.
If thinning is the bigger worry, the OELY biotin shampoo is the one I tried for that. For an itchy, irritated scalp, I tried the RoyceDerm coal tar shampoo.
How did my hair feel after a week and a half?
Softer. Not overnight, but within a few washes I could feel it when I ran my hands through my hair, and it’s stayed that way. I don’t really do my hair anymore, so soft and smelling good is most of what I’m asking for.
Up top is what I care about most. The regrowth at my roots has gone wiry, frizzy, and kinky, and it looks very frizzy and old right there. After a week and a half with this set it’s calmed down a little. Not fixed. Calmer. For hair that decided to age a decade in a year, I’ll take calmer.
What are the shampoo and conditioner like to use?
- The shampoo is clear and it lathers: it gets nice and lathery, which surprised me for a sulfate-free formula, and it feels good going on.
- The conditioner is creamy: thick enough to feel like it’s coating the hair, not so thick that it weighs it down after.
- A little goes a long way: a small amount covers what I need, and I don’t want to waste it, so I don’t.
- It’s fine at the scalp: I worked the conditioner down to my scalp once, which I don’t usually do with conditioner, and it felt nice. I probably won’t every time.
